Week in Review – Week 6/Christmas Morning
Not much to say about Week 6 that I didn’t post during the week. It is a strange feeling not doing steady cardio after having done it 5-7 days a week, every week, since March. I am so used to pushing myself so hard all the time that my mind is having difficulty getting around doing less for, hopefully, more. It isn’t a bad feeling by any means, just one I am not accustomed to. I am curious to see if this will make a difference though, there are definitely those out there who furiously advocate a few intense HIIT sessions a week over any steady cardio. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see! Still hoping the doctor might provide some insight as to my lack of weight loss – I left a message on their voicemail yesterday
I am going to attempt an indoor HIIT workout today in my parents house with my new iPod shuffle! For iPods, the shuffle is the most affordable by far but I just keep justifying not spending the money on one when I have been wanting one for so long. But Santa was amazing and brought me one, now I can FINALLY listen to music when I lift!!!!! I hope my parents and sisters don’t want to kill me too badly after 20 minutes of loudly running up and down stairs, jumping jacks, and whatever other torturous maneuvers I can devise.
Christmas Eve and Christmas have so far been fantastic. Abstaining from Christmas Eve dinner out was far easier than I could ever have anticipated. I accompanied my family to the Chinese restaurant, was so secretly grossed out by all of the grease in every dish that I was actually happy to not be partaking, and was able to just enjoy quality time with my family. As sappy as this sounds, it occurred to me that this trip to NJ was to spend time with my family and enjoy each other’s company – not about the food that we would be eating. By keeping that in mind, I have been having a blast just hanging out and decided that I will stay an extra day… which will also cut back on the amount of traffic I am likely to encounter.
Now back to making a new workout playlist and watching A Christmas Story over and over and over.
